Features of the Vosteed Porcupine
A striking feature of the Vosteed Porcupine is the innovative Top Liner Lock (TLL) locking mechanism. This system combines a button lock and a liner lock. This allows you to unlock the knife easily and safely without your fingers coming into contact with the blade. Combined with the smooth bearings in the hinge screw, this ensures a quick, smooth action when opening and closing the knife.
Vosteed Porcupine: the blade
The Vosteed Porcupine is fitted with a drop-point blade with a flat grind. This versatile blade shape gives the knife with excellent cutting performance for everyday tasks such as cutting through cardboard, rope or food. The generous “belly” further enhances the excellent cutting performance. This makes cutting vegetables, for example, a lot easier. You open the blade via the characteristic oval thumb hole, allowing you to open the knife easily with one hand.
Vosteed Porcupine: the handle
The handle of the Vosteed Porcupine has been designed with comfort and control in mind. The ergonomic shape and the generous recess for your index finger ensure a secure grip during use. Subtle “jimping” on both the back of the blade and the handle provides extra control during precision work. Thanks to its well-thought-out ergonomic design, the Porcupine feels comfortable in the hand, even if you have larger hands.

Designed by Yue Dong
Yue, a designer and co-founder of Vosteed, developed a passion for knives at a young age thanks to his father’s collection; who used his knives in his work as a biologist. With access to design software and a workshop, he began designing knives himself. When it comes to knife design, he is a strong advocate of combining functionality with a certain “fidget” factor. One of his main priorities is therefore to develop new locking mechanisms that make using knives even more enjoyable.
