Military LED flashlights: 4 things you need to pay attention to

Military flashlights are rock-solid

The body of a military flashlight is made from top-quality aluminium that is often used in the aviation industry. It is incredibly strong material that will protect the insides of the light. As a result, as a soldier, you know this flashlight will last a lifetime which is essential when you are out on a mission! The battery is kept in place by two little springs. These catch the blow that is released during high impact movements.

A stroboscope on speed-dial

Military flashlights have a stroboscope mode that can be reached with one simple movement. Actually thinking about where the stroboscope mode is, is literally and figuratively killing for soldiers. At the same time the high-frequency stroboscope needs to produce a huge amount of light to dazzle the enemy. 

Military LED flashlights cannot be focused

A flashlight for military use cannot be focused. After all, vibrations change the beam when you use a focusable flashlight. And, as a soldier, you always want to make sure you have a stable light, especially during military ops.

Compatibility with a gun clamp

Military flashlights can, if preferred, be attached to a gun clamp or other mounting system. The ALG-00 is a top-quality gun clamp that can be mounted to the picatinny or weaver rail of a rifle. A body diameter between the 22 mm and 26 mm will be perfect. A slim body also means less weight, and the lower the weight, the better it will be for the soldier!

Also practical: situations that ask for a rapid response make a remote switch indispensable. A great example is the Fenix AER-02. This flashlight has been enhanced with two switches: a regular and a ‘momentary-on’ switch. With special contra Velcro you can attach the switch a little over the handle of the gun. Afterwards you can use your index finger to control the light.

How powerful can a flashlight be?

In terms of power there is no limit. The strobe, a bright flashing mode, is also allowed. The size of the flashlight, however, is something to take into account. Flashlights up to 30 cm are never really an issue. Larger flashlights can be considered striking weapons.
