The **Fällkniven CBNC sharpening stone, cubic boron nitride** is the perfect sharpening stone for on the road. All sides of this sharpening stone are enhanced with cubic boron nitride. Because of the grain size of 25 micron you can quickly sharpen the edge of a knife. One side of the sharpening stone is bevelled. As such you are left with a small sharpening surface that is perfect for sharpening tasks that require a little more precision.

 Cubic boron nitride (CBN) is an extremely hard, synthetic crystalline material. CBN is superior in the field of wear and tear and oxidation resistance when it comes in contact with different types of steel. It is mostly great when used on hardened stainless steel cutting tools. CBN is not harder than diamond. It is, however, thermally and chemically more stable than a diamond-coated sharpening stone.

 ### Use and maintenance

 You can use the sharpening stone without water, with water or with sharpening oil. Do, however, make sure you don't apply too much pressure when you sharpen! It will namely affect the life of the stone. With normal use the stone will last a lifetime.

 We do not recommend using the sharpening stone with softer metals such as aluminium or copper. It could namely affect the sharpening function of the stone because it could get clogged. Use warm water and some detergent if needed to clean the stone. At first the stone could feel a little coarse. After using it a couple of times, however, it won't feel as coarse anymore.

Wie bei galvanisierten Diamantsteinen gibt es auch hier bei neuen Schleifsteinen noch lange nach dem normalen einschleifen einzelne tiefere Kratzer. Ich erwarte aber, dass sich das nach 50 – 100 Messern gibt. 
Ansonsten macht selbst dieser „noch“ neue CBN-Stein von meinem Gefühl her einen sanfteren Schliff als galvanische Diamantsteine. Davon erwarte ich mir eine längere Standzeit der Schärfe. 
Allgemein ist dieser Schleifstein sehr dicht mit CBN-Körnern belegt. Unter meinem x100 Auflichtmikroskop machen die Schleifkörner von der Größe her einen gleichmäßigen Eindruck. Auch die 25 my erscheinen mir realistisch. 
Die Bindung der Schleifkörner macht mir bisher einen recht haltbaren Eindruck.
