The **Buck 55** is a practical and compact pocket knife. It is called the '55' because it is exactly half the size of the famous Buck 110. It resembles its big brother in almost everything. Clippoint 420HC blade, nail nick to open it and a solid backlock to lock the blade when opened. The handle is also made from brass, the inlay, however, is made from American walnut wood. That is the only large difference in addition to the size.

Ein schönes handliches Messerchen in bewährter Buck-Qualität. Ich trage es EDC immer und überall mit mir herum. Es ist sa.-scharf und leistet mir als backup zum größeren Jagdmesser sehr gut Dienste. Habe es nochmal über das Leder gezogen - jetzt schneidet es schon beim "nur angucken" ;-)  Ich würde es wieder kaufen und kann es Jedem, der ein "immerüberalldabei"-Messer sucht, nur empfehlen.

J’ai acheté le 55 après avoir lu le descriptif qui indiquait que ce couteau était le même que le 110 à l'échelle 1/2.
Je m'attendais donc à recevoir un couteau légèrement plus petit de 1,5 cm (pour la lame) qui le buck 112 Ranger.
Mais le 1/2 s'applique à toutes les dimensions du couteau, longueur,largeur et épaisseur. 
Vous recevez un petit couteau de poche. Avec une lame de 6cm,largeur 1.4 cm et un manche de 8,5 cm.
Il s’qgit d’un couteau de poche dit de ́’gentleman’́.
Il peut servir à ouvrir des lettres,couper de la ficelle,ouvrir un colis, tailler des crayons, mais pas à picke niquer ou tailler un bout de bois.
La finition est impeccable, parfaite, 
J’aurai aimé que les cotes en ébène soient arrondies pour être plus agréables en manipulation.
Et qu’il soit livré avec un etui de poche en cuir.
Le prix est élevé. 
La solution est d’acheter ce couteau avec le buck 110.
Le prix abordable du 110 compensera celui du 55.
Néanmoins je me suis habitué à ce canif de poche que je manipule machinalement et que je trouve très sympathique malgré son prix élevé.
