The **Buck Bantam BBW 284** is a tough EDC pocket knife that is characterized by an excellent price-quality ratio. You easily open the blade with the help of the thumb studs. A backlock ensures that the blade stays in place. As such you don't even have to worry about the knife closing during the more demanding cutting tasks. The blade is made from 420HC. A classic, stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen. 

The handle is made from FRN. FRN is a rock-solid and lightweight material that provides you with a lot of grip. The handle is also enhanced with finger grooves, making it feel very solid hand. The Buck Bantam is produced in the United States. As such you get a lot of 'Buck' for your money.

Comes hair-splitting sharp out of the box but dulls easily. The steel is on the softer side and showed signs of wear after the first use. You have to be careful not to hit the thumb studs when sharpening. Opening is stiff, with audible friction. One-handed opening is technically possible but difficult, even after oiling the pivot and two weeks of regular use. Blade has lateral and vertical play and you can feel it flexing while cutting. Cannot be adjusted or taken apart due to the riveted construction. I do not recommend this knife.

i feel like buck makes mostly cheap knives and this is another cheap one, its plastic and dont feel like its gonna hold up for long but i like the back lock for my collection :D

Un peu surpris par sa petite taille. Idéal pour fourre tout ,petite poche sac à main.

Un buon coltello, forse mi aspettavo l'impugnatura un po' meno leggera, ma sembra comunque solido. 

Ik was enigszins teleurgesteld toen ik dit mesje uit de verpakking haalde. Maakte gewoon een gore indruk. Blijkbaar een slechte dag voor de afdeling Quality Control. Verder is de constructie wel heel simpel: 1 lemmet, 1 metalen veer en 2 plastic plaatjes voor de greep. Niet zoals bij andere messen nog 2 dunnen metalen plaatjes ter versteviging. Dat zorgt er voor dat het wel een heel licht mesje is en de constructie is voldoende stevig. Verder was het lemmet  inderdaad niet goed schoon gemaakt. Wel was het bloody sharp. Dus per saldo een klein, licht, slim geconstrueerd mesje met een lemmet dat groot genoeg is om mee uit de voeten te kunnen...

en dan ook tegen een leuke prijs..
