This **Skottsberg 533097 seasoning oil, 250 ml** will protect your Skottsberg cast-iron and stainless steel pans. It makes sure your pan won't rust and creates a natural non-stick coating. A characteristic feature of Skottsberg's cast-iron and sheet steel pans is that they do not have a synthetic non-stick coating. Instead, they are seasoned with a natural oil. We recommend seasoning your pan before first use to create a stronger non-stick coating. 

## Maintaining your pan

The best way to create a natural layer inside your pan is by cooking in it! Each time you use oil in the pan, it will become better. Acidic food, high temperatures or scrubbing too hard can, however, affect the layer. This seasoning spray will then come in handy! Treating it is easy: 

  * First clean the pan with water and some detergent. 

  * Afterwards spray a thin, even layer of seasoning spray on the inside and outside of the pan.

  * Place the pan upside down in the oven. Make sure to place a sheet of baking paper or aluminium foil in your oven beforehand.

  * 'Bake' the pan for an hour at 230-260°C. Let it to cool down, and you are done!
