The **Messermeister Overland Chef's Knife 8" OLO-868** is a robust, versatile kitchen knife for outdoor cooking. This is the largest knife in the two-part Overland series with a blade length of 20 cm. Use it for slicing large vegetables such as cabbage or cutting large pieces of meat.

The knife is equipped with what Messermeister calls a '60/40 blade grind'. This is a type of sharpening where the blade is not completely flat-ground. As such, the knife has a high spine. This results in a robust blade with a nice weight. The clip-point-style tip makes precise cutting tasks easy.

## Messermeister Overland series

Knives from the Overland series are perfect for bushcrafting or on a road-trip through nature. In both cases you don't want to bring a lot of kitchen knives. The answer is a knife from the Overland collection. From cutting vegetables and meat to making feathersticks for a campfire. A knife from the Overland collection can do it all!

## \## Overland series materials

For the Overland collection Messermeister used robust materials that can handle their own. The handles are made from canvas micarta and offer a lot of grip. This is a material that is often used for bushcraft and survival knives. It is made from canvas and synthetic resin. This material offers great grip in all circumstances, even when there is moisture or fruit juice on the handle. Micarta takes over the traces of use, making the knife unique in time.

Messermeister used Nitro Cobalt steel with a hardness of 62HRC for the handles. Another great example of a robust material that can handle its own. Characterizing for this type of steel is the corrosion resistance and sharpness retention.

A unique detail of the Overland series is the lanyard hole at the end of the handle. It also functions as a bottle opener.

## Made in Maniago, Italy.

While most Messermeister knives are produced in Germany, the Overland collection is produced in Maniago. The knife Mecca of Italy which houses many Italian knife brands.
