The **Messermeister Oliva Luxe Santoku 16 cm** is a stylish kitchen knife. The santoku is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. The knife is perfect for chopping vegetables, meat, fish, onion, garlic and various types of herbs. With a blade length of 16 cm, this santoku knife is relatively small. This means you have a lot of control while cutting, and the knife is also nice and lightweight.

## Oliva Luxe blade: hand polished

The knives are forged in the traditional way from one piece of German 1.4116 stainless steel. The steel is hardened to a hardness of around 58 HRC. As a result, the knife retains its sharpness for a long time when used correctly. Polishing a knife is where many manufacturers cut back to keep the knife affordable. That's where Messermeister excels with this collection. Each blade is polished by hand on a fabric wheel. This gives the knife the sharpest possible edge, so it's razor-sharp straight out of the box.

## Oliva Luxe handle: sophisticated olive wood

The handle of this knife is made from Mediterranean olive wood. The light brown wood has a wild pattern with dark brown lines. With its rounded corners, the handle lies comfortably in hand. Since olive wood is a natural product, the handle for each knife is unique! Besides the fact that olive wood looks beautiful, it is also a very durable type of wood. Because olive trees grow very slowly, the wood has a high density. Olive is an oil-rich wood. This makes the wood naturally water-repellent. Olive wood is also very slow to develop stains and discolourations from food. To keep the handle beautiful for as long as possible and avoid damaging it, it's important not to put the knife in the dishwasher. Wash the knives by hand after use and dry them immediately.
