This **Le Thiers pocket knife** is a tribute to the village of Thiers in France. For centuries Thiers has been the heart of the French knife industry. Here the Le Thiers knives are made by hand. The fact that Le Thiers pocket knives are made by hand is clear when you look at the finish. Each knife is unique and has its own charm.  The Le Thiers Gentleman knives have a safe lockings system, a flexible mechanism and a solid stop-pin to maintain the sharpness of your knife.

 ## Blade

 The blade is made from 14C28N stainless steel. This steel is often used for top-quality knives. The secret is the addition of nitrogen. Combined with a hardness of 58-59 HRC this type of steel is perfect for knife makers who demand a lot when it comes to sharpness, stability and corrosion resistance.

 ## Lock

 This knife is enhanced with a lock on the blade, type back-lock. This lock ensures the safety. Thanks to this lock you also don't need a heavy spring. As such the knife opens and closes lightly.

 ## Stop-pin

 As the blade closes it is caught by a hardened pin. As such the sharp blade will never hit the inside of the knife as it closes. The pin will not wear out. Not even with long-term use.

 ## Handle

 The scales of this pocket knife are made from Desert Ironwood. A type of hardwood mainly found in the United States and Mexico. Characterizing is the beautiful colour and the rich pattern. This great type of wood makes the knife look extra luxurious. Be aware of the fact that materials such as wood have a natural variation. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same. As such all knives are unique. This is also what makes them so special. It also comes with a leather sheath. Another traditional product that was made by hand in France.

 ## Maintenance

 You need to add some oil to the mechanism once in a while. You should also regularly sharpen the blade to retain the sharpness of your knife. You should, however, do this with every knife. Sharpen the knife before it is blunt. Otherwise you are already too late. A knife should never be placed in a dishwasher. Rinse off the blade after use and dry it properly. Especially after cutting products that contain acids and salt. If you don't use the knife on a daily basis or want to store it for a longer period of time you need to oil the blade.

 ## Warranty
