## The head of the Adler Rheinland Hatchet

The head is forged from C60 steel. This is a hard carbon steel that is still easy to sharpen. The head has a transparent coating that protects the steel from rusting. This coating will wear off with repeated use. Therefore, always store your axe dry. The head of the Rheinland Hatchet has a typical German shape with a wide cutting edge. The small notch on the bottom makes it easier for you to get your hand close to the cutting edge. This is ideal if you want more control. For small cutting or carving tasks around the campsite.

## The handle of the Adler Rheinland Hatchet

The handle is made from American Hickory wood. This type of wood absorbs blows well. Very important for an axe! The handle has a layer of non-slip paint that makes it very pleasant to hold.
