The **Rough Ryder Scout Knife** is a cool, traditional pocket knife. This knife is made according to a pattern from the 19th century. It is enhanced with a knife, of course, but also a couple other tools. It contains a bottle opener with screwdriver, an awl and a can opener. You open the tools with two hands and a slipjoint prevents unintentional closing, even though it won't completely lock the blade. As such you can legally carry this pocket knife in many places in Europe.

## T10 carbon steel

T10 is a type of carbon steel. This means that it is easy to sharpen razor-sharp. But please note: T10 is not stainless! It will discolour in time and form a patina. And if you don't treat it at all, it will even start to rust. So clean it after use and occasionally add a few drops of oil to the blade. Carbon steel such as this is really a traditional option: in the past all knives were made from this type of steel.

## Micarta handle

The handle is made from black micarta. A composite material made from textile and plastic. With subtle blue accents against the edges of the bolsters.

Rough Ryder Knives is a brand with a rich history. For over 25 years this brand is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. Like Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Ryders these knives were named after, these knives are ready to be used. The prices are very appealing. However, this does mean that the finish might not always be perfect. Nothing major, and definitely in line with the prices. In case of natural materials such as wood, bone and horn it is possible to end up with small scratches around the pins. It is simply a part of the deal in this price range.

This knife is OK, nothing special.  It feels rather uncomfortable in the hand because of the hole in it left by the diamond-shaped badge thing which is missing.  This does not give confidence in the quality of the item 

Das Messer ist für den Preis wirklich gut verarbeitet. Es gibt einen kleinen Spalt am Rücken und die Klinge touchiert beim schließen minimal die Ahle, allerdings muss man bei dem Preis mit sowas leben können. Einziges Manko, der Flaschenöffner ist ein Reinfall, da der Winkel beim ansetzen sehr steil sein muss und weil der nicht unter den Korken kommt, man muss diesen genau an einem Zahn des Korkens ansetzen damit das klappt. Keine Ahnung was man sich dabei gedacht hat
