The **Maserin Scout** is a practical and compact EDC pocket knife. The first thing you notice is the stunning olive wood handle. It looks incredibly fancy and it gives the knife a premium look and feel. An advantage of olive wood is that it is light-weight. It is therefore not only great to look at, but also very functional!

 The Scout is enhanced with a slipjoint-mechanism. With a slipjoint the blade won't lock when opened. As such the Scout is legal to carry in almost every country! You can easily open the Scout with the nailnick. Like classic slipjoints this knife has a half-stop. This means that halfway the blade needs to be pushed over an additional 'threshold'. This functions as an additional safety mechanism. If the blade accidentally closes during use, it will stop halfway through. Better safe than sorry! The blade is made from D2-steel. A strong type of steel that can handle quite a lot. Do, however, make sure you properly clean the blade. D2 is not completely stainless.

 Considering the lower price range the Maserin Scout is also great as a gift to a loved one.

Un joli couteau pliant, assez simple mais élégant. Le bois du manche est très brut.

Ich suchte ein schönes und handliches Taschenmesser. Etwas besonderes, optisch vor allem. Im Internet ist das ja immer so eine Sache, aber meine Auswahl war genau richtig. Das Holz fühlt sich sehr schön an, es sieht sehr schön aus und die Spannung der Klinge ist genau richtig. Nicht zu leicht und nicht zu straff. Die Klinge ist sehr scharf und hat eine angenehme Form. Man sollte nach säurehaltigem Obst die Klinge etwas abwischen, da dieser Stahl nicht absolut korrosionsfrei ist, wie es bei Essbesteck der Fall ist. Dennoch ein schönes Messer zum Wandern, für Camping und Freizeit. Für die Werkstatt ist es mir zu schade.

Very good finish, and very good material quality (steel and scales wood). Blade centered and very sharpen. The spring is very soft (opens and closes very easy), I hope that' not a problem. The sole bemol is a side play of the blade, not big but it's there. I hope it can be fixed tightening the screw. All in all a very good value for money. Without the play, I would rate it at 5 stars.
