## HORL 3 Quick Lock

## HORL 3 Angle Support and Grip Pad

The magnetic Angle Support is the included block to which you attach your knife. This block always keeps the knife at the desired sharpening angle. Thanks to the HORL Grip Pad, the magnetic Angle Support now offers 70% more grip than the previous HORL models, allowing for better gripping of kitchen knives and even small pocket knives. 

### HORL 3 Oak sharpening angles

The HORL 3 Oak has two sharpening angles. Use the 20° sharpening angle for sharpening European kitchen knives and pocket knives for long-lasting sharpness. You use the 15° sharpening angle mainly for Japanese kitchen knives that require a thin and razor-sharp edge. The HORL 3 Oak is the ideal knife sharpener for those who prioritize sharp, durable edges on their kitchen knives. 

## HORL 3 Oak abrasive material

The HORL 3 Oak has one diamond-coated sharpening disc with a medium grain size that uses the HORL Block Diamonds. This ensures effective and consistent results. Excellent for making your dull knives sharp once more. On the other side is the fine, ceramic sharpening disc. You use this after the diamond sharpening disc, to refine the edge of the knife and make it even sharper.

Hij doet wat hij moet doen maar voor dat geld zijn er wel betere alternatieven de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is meer richting de prijs dan de kwaliteit.

We purchased the sharpener based on many reviews. The sharpener works and seems to work well. It took a while for me to be confident of this, largely because most of our good knives had been damaged by cheap sharpeners (and wrong angles). But after spending extra time and effort with the sharpener, our knives are now getting sharp and are much better than they have been previously. The unit isn't exactly cheap, but seems worth it.

HORL 3 Oak HO3E-SET: Een eerlijk verhaal

De HORL 3 Oak is een prachtige aanwinst voor mijn keuken. Het eikenhout geeft hem een warme uitstraling en de magnetische houder is een genot om te gebruiken. Grote messen slijpen is nu een fluitje van een cent! De magneet houdt het mes stevig vast, waardoor je met weinig moeite een haarscherpe snede krijgt.

Snel resultaat, maar niet altijd perfect

Wat ik ook erg fijn vind is de snelheid waarmee je resultaat boekt. Binnen een paar halen is mijn mes weer als nieuw. Helaas zijn er ook een paar minpuntjes die ik tegenkwam. Soms schieten de slijpstenen wel eens los tijdens het slijpen, wat even schrikken is. En hoewel de meeste delen van het mes goed geslepen worden, heb ik gemerkt dat het stukje bij het handvat wat lastiger is om helemaal scherp te krijgen.

Conclusie

Over het algemeen ben ik erg tevreden met de HORL 3. Het is een mooie, degelijke messenslijper die mijn kookervaring heeft verbeterd. Als je op zoek bent naar een snelle en gemakkelijke manier om je messen te slijpen, dan is deze zeker een aanrader. Houd er alleen rekening mee dat je misschien wat extra aandacht moet besteden aan het slijpen van de punt van het mes.
