Reviews for HORL 3 Oak HO3E-SET knife sharpener, oak wood

I recently tried the HORL 3, and overall I found it very easy to use. The build quality feels premium, the magnetic angle guide works well, and the rolling motion makes the sharpening process smooth and consistent even for someone without much experience. That said, the instructions could be clearer, especially when it comes to how much sharpening is actually needed. The manual explains the steps, but it doesn’t give a good sense of timing, number of passes, or visual cues to look for. This made it a little hard to know whether I had sharpened my knife enough or if I was overdoing it. Despite that, once you get a feel for it, the HORL 3 delivers good results with very little effort. A bit more guidance in the instructions would make it even better. The price is still a little bit to high especially when their are cheaper and better things on the market.

We purchased the sharpener based on many reviews. The sharpener works and seems to work well. It took a while for me to be confident of this, largely because most of our good knives had been damaged by cheap sharpeners (and wrong angles). But after spending extra time and effort with the sharpener, our knives are now getting sharp and are much better than they have been previously. The unit isn't exactly cheap, but seems worth it.
