The Helle Viking is a revision of a classic Helle knife. This version was introduced as a part of a fundraising campaign to take a traditional Viking ship around the world. The handle is made from stunning birch wood. The handle was shaped, polished and oiled by hand to give it it's unique character. The tang of the blade seamlessly merges with the handle. The blade is made from laminated 3-layer carbon steel.

The knife comes with a traditional Scandinavian leather sheath.

**Maintenance**

Both the handle and the blade need to be dried with a soft towel if they get wet. We also recommended occasionally adding wax or oil.

The sheath should occasionally be impregnated with a colourless agent (grease or wax) to make sure it stays flexible. Dry the sheath carefully at room temperature if it gets wet.

All Helle knives are made and finished by hand. As such each knife is a unique masterpiece because every pattern is different.

The black blade of this knife cannot be used for engravings. The results won't look good.

Le Viking de Helle c'est finalement "Le couteau" originel. Voulu comme une reproduction historique, c'est une très belle réussite par sa simplicité. La qualité des deux composantes essentielles: la lame, assez épaisse, en acier de carbone laminé laissée "brut de forge" sauf le tranchant et le manche en bouleau d'où la soie martelée émerge à l'arrière donne une chaude et solide impression rustique. L'étui cuir est robuste et bien assorti. C'est un couteau bien fait pour l'outdoor (et pas seulement pour le saucisson!).

Ich war sehr gespannt auf dieses Messer, und es hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Sehr schlicht und dabei sehr wertig.
Erste Tests waren zu meiner vollsten Zufriedenheit, was handling aber auch Schnitthaltigkeit anbelangt.
