The **Grailer 4** is a big and cool EDC pocket knife, designed by Dutch knife maker Michel Timmermans. The Grailer 4 is based on his Genesis 2.1 design, a pocket knife that captures motion. Featuring sleek, harmonious lines and ergonomics designed for practical use. Dutch design at its finest, now available to everyone.

## CPM 20CV steel blade

The blade is made from CPM 20CV steel. It is one of the most popular types of steel at the moment because it retains its sharpness for a really long time. It is also stainless and easy to sharpen. Like Michel's custom knives, the Grailer 4 has a 'straight back' blade shape. In this case, the straight spine also has a 'harpoon swedge', or false edge. It makes the knife look a little more special. The blade has a flat grind, and it is very thin behind the edge. As a result, it slices through anything with laser-like sharpness!

## Smooth flipper

You open the blade at lightning speed thanks to the flipper. The blade moves smoothly out of the handle, courtesy of the ceramic ball bearings. When opened, a sturdy framelock will lock the blade to make sure your fingers are safe. The addition of the steel lockbar insert is quite the upgrade for Grailer; this is a component made of hardened steel at the end of the lock, keeping it in perfect condition for years to come.

Another nice detail is the stop pin that is pressed into the blade. Because it's inside the blade and rests against the liners on either side, it's incredibly stable and strong.

## Special screw construction

The distinctive feature of the Grailer 4's design is, of course, the bolsters, like those on Michel's Genesis 2.1. These are screwed onto the pocket knife from the inside. We repeated the same ingenious trick with the pocket clip. This makes the knife look very sleek.

## Grailer 4 Carbon Fibre

This version of the Grailer 4 is equipped with high-quality carbon-fibre handle scales. Lightweight and incredibly strong, this high-tech material is also used in the aviation and aerospace industry. The same material appears in the pivot collar, around the hinge. The blade is enhanced with a rough 'acid stonewash'. It looks great in combination with the dark finish of the bolsters and the liners.

Since his debut knives in 2015, he has rapidly grown in popularity to be one of the foremost custom pocket knife makers in the Netherlands. De eerste Grailer waarvan ik beide uitvoeringen 'moest' hebben. Het voelde niet compleet zonder de carbon fiber uitvoering in de collectie. Het is 'same, same but different'. 
Fit en finish is ook bij dit mes weer perfect. Het mes komt ook mooi scherp uit de doos.
Bij twijfel.......gewoon doen.
