The **Fenix E18R-V2-B V2.0** is a really impressive flashlight, in our opinion. It's ultra-compact and offers excellent performance. Its predecessor already had an output of 750 lumens, but the V2.0 has a whopping 1200 lumens! And all of that in a light small enough to fit in your pocket or on your keychain. Plus, the E18R V2.0 is waterproof and dustproof according to the IP-68 standard. And fallproof up to 1.5 metres. A magnet on the bottom makes it easy to attach the torch to a metal surface. Very handy for DIY or if your car breaks down.

## Charging the Fenix E18R V2.0

The E18R runs on two types of batteries: the recommended rechargeable 16340 battery (included) and a CR123 as back-up or for temperatures below 0 °C. The included Fenix ARB-L16-700P 16340 Li-ion battery has a 700mAh capacity and provides a high, constant output. You charge the torch using the included USB-c charging cable. 

## Light modes of the Fenix E18R V2.0

  * Turbo (1200 lumens, 30 min)*
  * High (350 lumens, 1 hour 20 min)
  * Med (150 lumens, 2 hours 30 min)
  * Low (30 lumens, 15 hours)
  * Moonlight (1 lumen, 200 hours)
  * Strobe (1200 lumens) *The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest mode. After 2-3 minutes, the light automatically switches to a lower mode due to the temperature regulation.

## Prevent a too deeply discharged battery

Are you not using your flashlight for a while? Always make sure to unscrew the tail cap a little bit. This prevents your battery from becoming too deeply discharged. Even when the light is off, it still draws some power from the battery. A battery that is too deeply discharged often cannot be recharged. That would be a shame!

Do you have a torch with built-in battery where you cannot remove the battery? Make sure to charge the light at least once every 3-4 months, even when not in use. This also prevents the battery from discharging too deeply, and it is good for the lifespan of your battery!

Compact zaklampje. Enige nadeel is dat de knop hold niet zo perfect zit waardoor de lamp automatisch was ingeschakeld in mijn tas.

Hij was nog kleiner dan verwacht. Net te groot voor aan je sleutelbos maar net groot genoeg om goed vast te houden. Ideaal om bij je te steken of voor kampeerders met minimale bepakking.

Ik reviews wordt geklaagd over de bediening, Dat die te omslachtig zou zijn. Ik was er heel snel aan gewend. Het enig wat ik nog wel eens heb, is dat ik hem uit wil doen en dan te kort indruk en dan gaat hij naar de volgende stand. Tip: plaats de klip net links of rechts van de bedieningsknop. Dat licht lekker in de hand en dan kun je hem op de tast makkelijk vinden.

Ik had hiervoor een Fenix met en knop op de achterkant. Die mis ik wel een beetje. Daar heb ik nu een magnetische achterkant voor terug. Kan handig zijn, maar vraag je af hoe vaak je dat nodig gaat hebben.

Opladen gaat via USB C. Daarvoor moet je een rubberen klepje lostrekken. Werkt prima en lijkt degelijk gemaakt maar ik vermoed toch dat dit het eerste is dat kapot gaat. 

Dit lampje heeft een laagste stand van slechts 1 lumen. Dat is echt een pluspunt. Dat is namelijk genoeg om bijvoorbeeld in bed een boek bij te lezen (zonder dat je wordt verbind). Bovendien verbruikt het nauwelijks energie.

Afhankelijk van wat je wel of niet belangrijk vindt: overweeg ook de Fenix PD25R. Die is iets groter, heeft als laagste stand 5 lumen (en hoogste 800) en heeft geen magnetische achterkant. Maar heeft wel een bedieningsknop op de achterkant, een minder kwetsbare toegang tot de usb-poort en ligt door zijn formaat wellicht net iets beter in de hand

Op zich goede zaklamp. Alleen dat het aan/uit knopje uitsteekt en zeer gevoelig is. Als die wordt ingedrukt gaar het lampje tweemaal aan en weer uit. Dus als hij in je broekzak zit dan druk je per ongeluk vrijwel constant het knopje in waardoor de batterij leeg gaat omdat hij 2x knippert.

Een uitstekend lampje. Heeft veel licht en voldoet ruimschoots aan mijn verwachtingen.
