The **Cold Steel SRK San Mai** is a very solid and robust fixed knife. SRK stands for Search and Rescue knife. As such this decent survival knife will never let you down. Not only during survival trips, also while hunting.


The blade is made from San Mai steel. This means that the VG10 steel core is laminated in between two layers of softer steel. As such you benefit from the advantages of the knife steel, while the outsides offer the core more solidity and flexibility.



The 5 mm blade is relatively thick. However, because it has a thin grind it is amazing to work with. It is a healthy balance between cutting properties and solidity. The Kray-Ex handle offers a lot of grip, even in wet circumstances. The solid Secure-Ex holster is enhanced with a press-stud to make sure you don't lose the knife.

Wygodny uchwyt. Fałszywe ostrze jest naostrzone. Niepotrzebnie ostrze jest z szlifem wklęsłym, mogłoby być skandynawskie.

Couteau vraiment qualitatif,
Une belle lame affûté rasoir en sortie de boite 
Ne pas pouvoir lui taper trop dessus au niveau du manche relevé de sa seule faille.
Son utilisation serait plutôt le travail de précision et bâtonnage leger, feather stick, chasse et peche. 
Assez épais il permet largement de faire levier, découper fort .
Un bon Bowie a bon prix équivalent au fallkniven A1 dans sa forme et sa solidité du vg 10 .. Même si ce dernier a un talon dépassant.. a 100 e de plus .. choix et concessions..a chaque couteau son utilisation !

Livraison extrêmement rapide, avec un colis très soigné, ce qui est toujours appréciable.

Concernant le Cold Steel SRK, c’est un excellent couteau de survie. Il peut paraître relativement compact en comparaison avec certains modèles plus imposants, mais une fois en main, on se rend compte qu’il est conséquent, robuste et parfaitement équilibré. La qualité de fabrication est indéniable, tout est soigné dans les moindres détails.

L’étui, contrairement à certains avis que j’ai pu lire, est très pratique : il maintient parfaitement le couteau sans nécessiter de forcer pour l’y insérer ou le retirer.

En résumé, une très bonne expérience, aussi bien sur le couteau que sur la livraison. À l’avenir, je repasserai non seulement par ce site, mais aussi par Cold Steel, qui propose du matériel fiable et de grande qualité.

Positiv:
- Die Klinge aus VG-10 Stahl ist hervorragend verarbeitet und 
   geschliffen
- Griff- und Klingenlänge harmonieren perfekt
- Preis... für etwas über 130.- Euro ein sehr gutes Angebot
Negativ:
- die Anpassung der Secure Ex Scheide müsste besser sein
- kein Angebot einer optionalen Lederscheide
Bei meinem Modell war dass Messer sehr, sehr schwer in die Scheide zu bekommen. Die Messerscheide besitzt innen zwei Quernuten, welche den Kratongriff fest halten. Allerdings hinterlassen sie unschöne Spuren   
auf dem Griff.
Mein persönliches Fazit:
Ich habe die Messerscheide nachgearbeitet. Im Backofen erhitzt, dem Messer angepasst und die Querrillen in der Scheide abgeschliffen. Eine halbe Stunde Arbeit und jetzt funktioniert es zufriedenstellend. Das Messer sitzt immer noch ausreichend fest und lässt sich leicht einführen. Es hakelt ein wenig, aber es funktioniert mit etwas Gefühl sehr gut, so dass ich mir die teure Anfertigung einer Lederscheide ersparen kann.
Ich liebe dieses Messer. Es sieht toll aus mit diesem VG-10 Stahl. Der Griff ist sehr angenehm und rutschfest. DieKlinge ist scharf und sehr gut geschliffen.
Ein tolles Teil, trotz der Mängel mit der Passgenauigkeit der Secure-Ex Scheide.


das SRK San Mai ist ein sehr gutes Messer, die schlechte Ein-Stern-Bewertung kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. ich habe es jetzt ausgiebig testen können, und bin nach wie vor begeistert von dem Messer. Sicherlich eines der besten Messer von Cold Steel.
