The **WMF Classic Line Chinese chef's knife** is a large Chinese chef's knife. It is shaped like a cleaver, but it is not suitable for cutting meat off bones. You use it to cut or chop herbs and vegetables, or to crush a clove of garlic. In the Chinese kitchen this chef's knife is often used because the height of the blade enables you to easily use your fingers as a guide as you're chopping. You can also easily scoop up the chopped ingredients. It functions safely and quickly, and is very practical.

## WMF Classic Line type of steel

The blade is made from X50Cr15MoV steel, Sounds complicated, but this stainless steel is one of the most commonly used types of steel for kitchen knives. This is simply because it is easy to sharpen, retains its sharpness well and has excellent corrosion resistance. WMF sharpens each blade with laser precision. Each knife is individually measured with a laser, after which the optimal sharpening angle is determined. A robot then sharpens the blade to an unprecedented sharpness. Ready for a lifetime of intensive use. In addition, WMF's blades are heated with different temperatures. This makes the blade extremely hard. As such, the blades are very strong and corrosion resistant.

## WFM Classic Line handle

The handle is made from black POM. This is an extremely durable type of plastic that can withstand all substances and conditions that can occur in a kitchen. The blade runs throughout the entire handle. The POM scales are seamlessly attached to the blade in the traditional way, with two rivets. As such, no dirt can accumulate between the blade and the handle. Very hygienic! The handles of the Classic Line knives do not have a metal bolster, but they do have a thicker part of the handle. As a result, your fingers won't just slide off the handle and against the blade while cutting. What more could a cooking enthusiast ask for?

Please note that knives are almost always sharpened by hand, even in factories. This value is therefore only an indication of a single tool measured by us.
