The **Spyderco Subway Bowie** is a small, fixed neck knife designed by Fred Perrin. A former French Army Commando, national Tae Kwon Do-champion and European full-contact stick-fighting champion. In addition, he is one of Europe's most sought-after close-combat and self-defence instructors. The design of his knives gives away that his specialty lies in close-combat. Small and subtle, yet extremely effective.

The Subway Bowie was designed to easily and discreetly wear it around your neck. The Subway Bowie comes with a custom-molded plastic Boltaron sheath and a silver ball-chain.

## Spyderco Subway Bowie blade

The blade is made from LC200N steel. This is a remarkable type of stainless steel. Not extremely hard, but extremely tough and with a great sharpness retention. Perfect for daily use. 

## Spyderco Subway Bowie handle

The handle is made from Fibreglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) and is poured directly on the tang of the knife. FRN is a fibreglass-reinforced plastic. What's great about FRN is that it can take a beating, and it is water-resistant. Perfect for everyday use! The handle is very small. Thanks to the indentation for your index finger and the 'jimping' (notches on top of your knife) for the thumb, you have a great grip and great control over your knife.

Dit is echt een “pocket fixed blade”. Functioneel, zeer goed hanteerbaar en toch klein. LC200N staal is één van mijn favorieten.
