It is because it is made from H1-steel. This is a type of steel in which all carbon is replaced by nitrogen. The result is a guaranteed stainless type of knife steel that retains its sharpness well.

 The Spyderco C88SWCYL2 Salt 2 is a good one-handed folding knife in the style of the famous Delica model, exactly like you are used to from Spyderco; no-nonsense, decent and functional. You open the knife with one hand with the help of the round hole in the blade, after which a reliable back-lock keeps the blade locked when opened. Instead of a blade with the classic leaf shape this blade has been enhanced with a Wharncliffe-shape. This is a variant of the sheepsfoot, but with a straight edge. Perfect for opening boxes.
