Replacement blade for the Gomtaro pruning saw with coarse serrations. Blade length: 30 cm

This is the replacement blade for the **Silky Gomtaro**. You can easily replace the blade with a large flat screwdriver.


The blade of this Silky saw is very thin and hard. As such it will be amazing to use, but it does require a little attention as you use it. This saw is a pull saw. This means that the blade cannot bend as you use it. Make sure that when moving it forward the blade is never forced. This could cause it to break. Always remove the weight to free the saw. As with any saw: let the saw do the work and don't force anything. This won't wear you out as much and it will benefit the life of the saw. By holding the handle in many different parts you can control how much wood you remove. Holding it close to the blade means less pressure on the blade and little wood removal. As such you can work accurately. When you hold the handle further back the pressure will be bigger, enabling you to work faster, but less precise.


When you spot the induction symbol on a Silky saw it means it was hardened and cannot be sharpened with the help of a file. You can tell when you look at the saw and see that the tips of the serrations are black.


You need to make sure the blade of the Silky saw stays clean, otherwise it will lose its function. Resin dissolves in olive oil and is therefore an effective and environmentally-friendly way to clean the blade. Do keep in mind that more aggressive means can damage the rubber on the handle. 

If you don't use the saw, dry it properly, put it in its holster and store it somewhere dry.
