The **Rough Ryder Reserve Quillcliffe RRR021, D2, Black Micarta** is a cool, traditional pocket knife. The knife gets its name from the shape of the handle, the 'quill', which looks a lot like a spring. The 'cliffe' from the name owes the knife to the wharncliffe blade shape. The pointed tip is perfect for precise tasks. And the straight edge is easy to maintain on a flat sharpening stone.



You open the Rough Ryder with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the Rough Ryder Reserve Quillcliffe RRR021, D2, Black Micarta, slipjoint pocket knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of. Therefore, it's important to clean and dry the blade after use, and a drop of oil every once in a while can't hurt.



The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.



## Micarta handle

The handle of this Rough Ryder Reserve is made of micarta and measures 10,1 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.



## Rough Ryder Reserve collection

Rough Ryder's Reserve series is one of their premium collections. A collection of authentic, traditional patterns as you're used to from Rough Ryder, but now with a more luxurious finish. Consider the barlow, trapper or copperhead, for example. Each knife in this series has one or more blades made from classic and razor-sharp D2 steel. The stunning handles are made from micarta, with bolsters made from nickel-silver. The handles are enhanced with gorgeous inlays, also made form nickel-silver. The walk'n'talk and the finish of the knives are really great for this price range. Moreover, every knife in the Reserve series is equipped with a stop-pin that prevents the knife from being damaged when you close it. Each knife in the Reserve series comes in a unique gift tin, perfect as a gift for fans of traditional knives.
