The **Rick Hinderer Extreme Duty Pen** is a slim tactical pen, designed by knife maker Rick Hinderer. With a total length of 14.1 cm and a diameter of 12.3 mm this is quite a big boy. Hinderer selected a Fisher Space pen refill as the refill.

 This brass version is slightly heavier than the other versions. The great thing about brass is that it will form a patina because of the use. As such each pen will become unique!

 The cap is attached with a screw thread. The back of the pen is also enhanced with these coarse threads. When you write you add the cap to the back. The side of the pen has been enhanced with massive grooves. These grooves supply you with a lot of grip. As befits a real Hinderer this pen has a modular construction. As such different parts are interchangeable.

Een hele mooi, maar wel zware pen. Deze zal een leven meegaan. Ergens jammer dat ik de 50 al ben gepasseerd en mijn leven al voor de helft voorbij is al. Nu moeten mijn kleinkinderen de pen gaan afschrijven.

It’s a heavy pen so if you don’t like heavy pens it’s maybe not for you. I love the brass and milling, it will patina beautifully. Cons, the milling is a bit sharp but it does not bother me much. 
It writes well and if needed it can be used as a kubaton and glass breaker. I use the pen frequently and it is a part of my daily EDC.
