The **Pro-Tech Malibu 5336 Dragon Scale** is a strong, no-nonsense EDC pocket knife. It has a cool reverse tanto blade shape and a slim handle. The Malibu is made to handle all day-to-day tasks without any problems.

## Pro-Tech button lock

Pro-Tech is known for its button lock mechanism. Possibly the best on the market in terms of performance. You open the blade with the flipper, then the lock holds the blade in place. Thanks to the natural position of your thumb next to the lock when you open the blade, the blade can also be closed quickly with the button lock. The action is super smooth thanks to the ceramic ball bearings — it strongly encourages the urge to fidget!

## MagnaCut blade

The blade is made from CPM 3V steel with a black DLC coating. This steel type is famous for its superior properties. It offers an excellent level of hardness and incredible sharpness retention. In short: MagnaCut steel makes for a durable and sharp edge. It's the perfect steel type for demanding tasks. The straight profile of the Wharncliffe blade ensures an even edge. This makes the knife ideal for tasks where precision and control are important, such as cutting cardboard into even pieces.

## Aluminium handle with Dragon Scale texture

The handle is made of lightweight aluminium with a Dragon Scale texture to provide good grip. The construction of the handle is also worth mentioning. It consists of two milled scales which connect to the spine of the handle. So no separate backspacer or stand-offs. This significantly reduces the number of parts and gives the knife a sleek look.

You carry the Pro-Tech Malibu with the deep-carry pocket clip. A clever detail is that the part of the handle under the pocket clip is flat. It doesn't have a texture like the rest of the scale, so your trousers will stay intact when you put the knife into your pocket or take it out of your pocket.

Wat een pracht mes!
Is wat aan de prijzige kant, maar de kwaliteit en de afwerkings is dan ook wel van een bijzonder hoog niveau.
Het ontbreken van in het oog springende tekst voegt voor mij ook veel toe aan z’n charme.
Alleen op de rug van het lemmet staat het merk en de staalsoort, verder is nergens ook maar een letter of markering te vinden.
Dit is mijn eerste Pro-Tech, maar hij bevalt bijzonder goed en is, ondanks de prijs, een echte aanrader, wat me j betreft.
De super staalsoort, fijne, simpele en veilige bediening door het gekozen slotmechaniek, maken dit tot een echte EDC gigant, nog los van z’n sexy, strakke en stealthy uiterlijk.
