The **LionSteel M2M** is an updated version of the famous LionSteel M2. In many ways the M2M looks a lot like the M2. On their quest for perfection LionSteel, however, found some points of improvement that make a big difference to the user.

The first difference is the blade. Even though in terms of design the blade stayed the same, LionSteel used premium M390 steel for this knife. Quite the upgrade when compared to the previously used D2 steel. M390 steel is a stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well. Characteristic for the LionSteel M2M is the high flat grind. As such the knife is great on the campsite for tasks such as food prep and light bushcraft tasks. Like gathering kindling.

The handle was also updated. It increased in length and the scales are rounded for a better and more comfortable grip. The handle of this M2M is made from solid G10.

Lionsteel subtly rounded the tang and the spine of the blade to make sure there are no sharp edges or corners where you don't want them. Only at the end of the handle a piece of angular steel is sticking out. This edge is sharp enough to effectively create sparks with a firesteel. You can also use this part to create tinder. Great when you want to light your fire!

Last but not least: the sheath. It is made from premium and solid leather and offers many carrying options. With the sheath you can carry the knife both horizontally and vertically, with the loops, on a belt. These loops also enable you to attach the knife to a MOLLE system. Not a fan of these loops. You can easily remove them. A clever detail that once again demonstrates that LionSteel does whatever it can to make sure their knives are user-friendly.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Messer mit einer etwas kürzeren aber dafür bauchigen Klinge. 
Das Lionsteel M2M hat optisch sofort diese Anforderungen für mich erfüllt und musste bestellt werden. Angekommen, ausgepackt und für sehr gut befunden. 
Der Griff liegt sehr angenehm in meiner Hand. Die Maserung der G10 Griffschalen ist spürbar aber noch sehr angenehm. (Ich hatte das M3 von Lionsteel zur Ansicht bestellt und fand den Griff zu aggressiv in meiner Hand)...
Größere Outdoorarbeiten hab ich damit noch nicht unternommen, aber schnitzen tut es verdammt gut. 
Werksschärfe ist absolut ausreichend.
Zur Scheide. Ich hab beim ersten Outdoor Einsatz die  eine Lederschlaufe verloren die er ermöglicht das Messer quer zu tragen. Schraube hat sich unbemerkt gelöst und war auf nimmer wiedersehen verschwunden. 
Auch passiert es mir hin und wieder das beim einstecken in die Scheide die Klinge das Leder steift und jedes mal ein kleines Stück heraus schneidet...
Im allgemeinen bin ich eh mehr der Kydex Typ. Daher hätte ich mich gefreut wenn es das Messer auch mit einer Kydex Scheide angeboten worden wäre.
Ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf.
