The **LifeStraw 2-stage replacement filter** is suited for all LifeStraw Go water bottles with filter. The tritan bottle from the Go and Go 2-stage are identical.

The carbon filter can be removed from its casing. As such you can also easily replace it. Due to the waterproof, rubber closure you do need to apply some pressure to remove the carbon filter from the base filter.


## What does this LifeStraw filter?




* Bacteria: 99.9999% (LOG 6 reduction). This LifeStraw filters, amongst others, E. coli bacteria from water.

* Protozoa: 99.9% (LOG 3 reduction). Protozoa is a collective term for single-celled parasites. Frequently occurring protozoa which LifeStraw successfully filters from the water are Giardia and Cryptosporidium. 

* Viruses: unfortunately this filter does not remove viruses from the water.

* Chlorine: this chemical irritates your eyes and skin and can make breathing difficult. In very low doses it is also used to disinfect water. This filter removes chlorine from the water, the longer the carbon filter is given the chance to filter the water, the more chlorine is removed from the water.

* Smell and flavour: even though it might not always be harmful, if water tastes funny you won't prefer drinking it. Fortunately the carbon filter will reduce this. 

* Pesticides and herbicides: these are chemical pesticides used in food production. They end up in water as the result of rainfall. Even though they might not immediately cause you harm, long-term exposure could be harmful. 



## Cleaning the water filter


If the primary filter is saturated with dirt you won't be able to drink from it. Blow air in the filter via the mouth piece to blow the dirt from the filter. If you are no longer able to remove the dirt you need to replace the filter.
