The **Kershaw Deschutes Caper** is a fixed knife that you'll want to use every day thanks to its small size, light weight and far forward finger groove. The knife is designed as a hunting knife, but thanks to the sharp tip and convex edge, the knife also has many applications in everyday life. 

The finger groove allows you to hold the knife close to the cutting edge. This gives you lots of control over the blade. And this control is further improved by the grooves on the spine of the blade. The grooves in the middle of the blade give your thumb some extra grip when you need to apply force to the blade. The grooves closer to the tip of the blade are for your index finger. This is ideal if you need to cut something precisely with the tip of the blade.

The knife comes with a very durable glass-filled nylon sheath. This is extra strong nylon that is resistant to drops and bumps. The sheath has a belt loop and webbing slots, so you can attach the sheath to your trousers, leg or backpack in various ways.

## Kershaw Deschutes Caper D2 steel blade

The blade is made from D2 steel. This is a tool steel with great sharpness retention. It's worth mentioning that D2 is not completely stainless. So clean it after contact with moisture and occasionally oil it. In addition, you can also easily sharpen the steel yourself if it starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Kershaw Deschutes Caper plastic handle

The olive green rubber handle has a polypropylene core. The core provides strength and the rubber offers very good grip. Partly thanks to the ridges in the side of the handle.

Ce modèle se présente comme un scalpel de chasse, poids plume, j'ai été surpris par sa légèreté. Son profil le rend très précis pour des tâches de précision, c'est d'ailleurs sa seule vocation. Il n'est pas fait pour du travail intensif, l'épaisseur est semblable à un opinel avec une géométrie très "pointu". Sur le terrain, il coupera proprement de la paracorde ou des champignons, sa fonction première est dans le depiécage. La pointe est très utile dans le traitement des carcasses, vous pouvez séparer proprement chaque  muscle sans vous soucier d'une coupe maladroite.
Je suis boucher, je voulais compléter ma collection avec une petite lame agile et précis au manche ergonomique.
L'étui facilite le rangement et le transport sur le terrain. L'acier D2 offre une bonne tenue du fil, il n'est pas inoxydable mais moins sensible à la corrosion avec un entretien régulier. C'est un bon petit couteau à un prix contenu.

le couteau a de bonnes dimensions pour du travail léger. La poignée est fine ainsi que la lame. N'espérez pas faire de batonnage avec, mais comme couteau de camping c'est sympa. Le dos n'est pas à 90° donc pas pour les pierres a feu. Un petit couteau au look sympa et pratique !
