With the **Fissler Original Profi Collection steam insert** you can turn an ordinary cooking pot into a steamer. This steam insert fits in any Fissler Original Profi Collection pan with a diameter of 20 cm. Steaming potatoes, meat, fish, vegetables or even rice is an easy task with this steam insert. 

## How do you use a steam insert?

Fill a pan with water and place the steam insert in the pan. Make sure that the steam insert doesn't touch the water — it should hang a few centimetres above the water. Fill the steam insert with the vegetables, potatoes, meat or fish you want to steam and put the pan on the stove or in the oven (maximum 230 degrees Celsius). The steaming happens automatically, and before you know it, you'll have a delicious, steamed meal on the table!

## Great features

Pans from the Fissler Original Profi Collection are enhanced with steel cold grips. These handles don't transmit the heat when used on electric stoves (electric, induction, ceramic and halogen). This means you can safely hold the handle with bare hands. However, they can get hot on gas stoves (depending on the size of the flame).

The lids of the Original Profi pans are solidly constructed. They seal off all moisture and heat well. A downward dent is also added to the middle of the lid. As such, all condensation will automatically return to the pan, making your dish even juicier. It also means you don't have to deal with lots of water when you take the lid off the pan.
