The **Fällkniven F1 VGWolf** is a top-quality survival knife, specifically designed for pilots working for the Swedish air force. It took 8 years to develop this model. The result of many tests and changing the design is an advanced, well thought-out and safe knife which combines strength with a modern design. The Fällkniven F1 is versatile and can be used while hunting, camping or during trekking or survival adventures.

The blade is made from, the in 2022 introduced, VGWolf steel. An upgraded version of the previous VG10W steel. VGWolf has a high concentration of tungsten (1.25%) The result is a better sharpness retention and the steel is a little tougher. The steel is laminated in between two layers of softer steel. As such the F1 retains its sharpness well, while at the same time it is a lot tougher than with a mono-steel construction.

The edge of the Fällkniven F1 is enhanced with a convex grind. This means that the blade is curved towards the edge. The result is an incredibly strong and sharp edge. To maintain this edge we recommend stropping it in time.

The handle is made from Thermorun. This is a rubber-like plastic that offers you enough grip. The fact that Fällkniven took the arctic climate of Sweden into account is clear when you look at the construction of the handle. The tang of the blade, the steel part that is located in the handle, is wrapped in Thermorun. As a result your hands won't freeze to the knife in very low temperatures. Even in the heat this works well because your hands won't burn if the knife was left in the sun for a while. So very well thought-out.

The Fällkniven F1 is one of the most popular outdoor knives ever. Its versatility, production quality and practical size make sure this knife can come in handy everywhere.

This version comes with a Zytel sheath in the Fällkniven X collection style. It has an additional retention lever. With it you can secure the knife in the sheath. As such it won't rattle, and you won't lose it. A nice upgrade!

Ottimo coltello da bosco, ben affilato, comodo in mano, robusto.

Das F1 überzeugt in jeder Hinsicht. Der VG10W Stahl hält die Schärfe für eine ganze Weile und ist sehr gut nachschärfbar, wenn man ein wenig Übung hat bezüglich des konvexen Anschliffs. Durch eben diesen Anschliff geht das Messer super ins Holz und verrichtet seine Aufgaben mit Bravour. Der Griff liegt super in der Hand und wird auch bei Regen oder im Winter nicht rutschig oder unangenehm. Das F1 ist eine klare und vollumfängliche Kaufempfehlung.

My second F1 from K&T. This one is a present for a good hunting friend.

Das  F1nz VGWolf ist top verarbeitet und ab werk schon richtig scharf.
Noch einmal über Lederriemen mit Schleifpaste gezogen hat es dann OP-Schärfe.
Liegt total ausgewogen in der Hand, Griffmaterial ist angenehm und wirkt nicht billig.
Die Zytelscheide nimmt das Messer sicher auf und ist nicht zu groß.
Nur den Sicherungsclip hätte ich anders herum gestaltet - nach oben "zu" und nach untern "auf".
Aber das ist jammern auf allerhöchstem Niveau und betrifft das Messer selbst nicht.
Warum das F1 ein Klassiker ist, wird einem ziemlich schnell klar.
Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ebenfalls top.
