The DMT Magna-Guide sharpening system is very well thought out. It uses the optional DMT Diafold pocket sharpening stones. The magnet holds the sharpening stone in place and provides you with a sharpening system for all your (pocket) knives.

Hat mich nicht soo ganz überzeugt. Für kleine Messer zum Winkel halten sicherlich geeignet. Aber grade bei kleineren Messern kann man das auch ohne Hilfe sicherlich hinbekommen. Und ob das Teil dann wirklich den hohen Preis wert ist? Abgesehen von Allem, kam es bei mir defekt an, weil sich eine Einstellung nicht arretieren lies. Da fehlt im Innenrohr ein kleiner Pin für die Bayonettverrieglung. Habe es zurückgeschickt und problemlos mein Geld zurückerhalten.

L'ensemble est en plastique durci, c'est assez cher pour ce que c'est il faut l'avouer. La notice est en anglais, il faut bien saisir que le réglage des deux tiges est fondamental, en rapport avec votre type de couteau ET l'épaisseur de la lame..Une fois qu'on a compris le truc, ça devient vite indispensable pour redonner un tranchant rasoir à n'importe quelle lame. Testé avec une Dmt diafold rouge et verte, sur esee 4, cold steel puuko, spyderco pm3, benchmade, et même zéro tolérance sinkevitch (très dur à aiguiser depuis que je l'avais je n'avais jamais réussi à lui redonner rapidement un bon tranchant) avec succès...ne pas hésiter à tester les angles (par exemple sur le pm3 c'est du numéro 3, alors que sur le Zt ou le benchmade mini griptilian c'est la position 4 qui marche mieux). Cela dépend de l'épaisseur de votre lame en fait..et en quelque minutes vous retrouvez un très bon tranchant.

Expensive for what is essentially a small plastic clamp. Then again, although the concept is simple, making your own jig like this would be difficult for most people. The adjustable guides don't feel as sturdy as I'd like and I worry they may flex during sharpening, affecting the angle. However, I have used it successfully and put a very sharp edge on my cook's knife. So it does work.
