Are your knives in need of sharpening?

The **DMT Large Diamond Cone** is a large, conical diamond-coated sharpening steel that sharpens curved blade. Think of wooden gouges, spoon knives, blister knives and much more. The sharpening steel has a tapered diameter from 19 to 32 mm.

## Grain size DMT Large Diamond Cone

The sharpening steel has a grain size of 25 micron. This corresponds with a Japanese sharpening stone of approx. J500 Japanese grit. This grain size provides you with quick results and a very sharp edge. The sharpening steel is enhanced with a layer of monocrystalline, synthetic diamonds. Monocrystalline means that each diamond is comprised of one crystal. Unlike polycrystalline diamonds, monocrystalline diamond does not wear out as fast. As such it is great for a sharpening steel!

## How to use DMT Large Diamond Cone

It's also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening steel needs to be pre-sharpened. At first it might feel coarse, but this will become less after using the steel a couple times, after which it will have its desired effect.
