The **DMT DuoSharp Benchstone 10" fine, extra-fine** is a large sharpening stone to quickly sharpen your knives. This sharpening stone has a surface of no less than 25 cm long. This additional length enables you to sharpen large (kitchen)knives.

## Grain size DMT DuoSharp Benchstone 10"

One side has a grain size of 25 micron (J500 grit) to sharpen blunt knives. The other side has a grain size of 9 micron (J1200 grit) to make sure you end up with razor-sharp results. The sharpening stone is enhanced with a layer of monocrystalline, synthetic diamonds. Monocrystalline means that each diamond is comprised of one crystal. Unlike polycrystalline diamonds, monocrystalline diamond does not wear out as fast. As such it is great for a sharpening stone! 

## How to use the DMT DuoSharp Benchstone 10"

You can use the DMT sharpening steels with or without water. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the steel is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. It's also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening steel needs to be pre-sharpened. At first it might feel coarse, but this will become less after using the steel a couple times, after which it will have its desired effect.
