Diamond-coated sharpening stone to sharpen knives and other tools

The **DMT DiaSharp Bench Stone 6x2 D6E one-sided, extra extra-fine** is a compact sharpening stone. The extra extra-fine side contains diamond particles of no less than 3 micron!
This side polishes the edge with razor-sharp results.


Compared to other diamond-coated sharpening stones, this stone won't quickly remove material. You, unfortunately, won't be able to sharpen a blunt knife razor-sharp with this sharpening stone. For it you need a coarser sharpening stone. With this sharpening stone you can, however, create a perfect razor-sharp edge on an already sharp knife.


In general diamond-coated sharpening stones quickly remove material and, depending on the grain size sharpen your knives razor-sharp. The advantage of diamond sharpening stones is that they don't have to be lapped. With this DiaSharp stone the diamond particles are added to a 6 mm thick steel sheet. As such the flatness of this sharpening stone is guaranteed.


## DMT DiaSharp Bench Stone 6x2: grain size


The grain size of a diamond-coated stone and a water stone cannot easily be compared. This is because the construction and materials used are substantially different. With a water stone, the abrasive grits are incorporated in the stone. These grains also come loose from the stone during use and become some kind of sharpening paste. With a diamond-coated stone, the diamonds are secured in the surface of the stone.


**Good to know**
The [DMT DuoBase met MagnaBase-adapter](/en/pt/-dmt-duobase-met-magnabase-adapter.htm) makes sharpening much more stable and easy. You can use the DMT sharpening stones with or without water. The advantage of wet sharpening is that the stone is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. Never use oil, always water. It is also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening stone must be sharpened as well. A new sharping stone removes quite a lot of material. Only after 5 to 10 knives does the stone have its final effect. The stone comes with a rubber base.

Surprenant… on dirait une simple plaque de métal, heureusement qu’une flèche sur la tranche indique le bon côté à utiliser !
Pour le moment cette pierre semble efficace mais je ne sais pas si elle peut rivaliser avec les performances d’une pierre à eau traditionnelle de même finesse… 
À voir à l’usage, en tout cas pour le moment j’en suis satisfait.
