## De Buyer Prima Matera Tradition: copper, stainless steel and cast iron

## Maintenance of copper pans

The copper Prima Matera pan needs a bit of maintenance to keep it in top condition. Regularly polish the outside of the pan with a copper polish such as the [de Buyer copper polish](/en/pt/-de-buyer-copper-polish-150-ml-420001n.htm). This preserves the beautiful copper colour. Clean the pan after each use with water and a mild detergent. Are there still food residues in the pan? Fill the pan with lukewarm water and mild detergent and let it sit for a few hours. Then clean the pan with a sponge. To prevent rust from forming, we strongly advise against cleaning it in the dishwasher.
