The **CRKT M40-02** is a solid pocket knife, designed by the legendary Kit Carson. Famous from, amongst others, the CRKT M16 collection and the M21 collection. The M40 collection is inspired by these popular knives. You can clearly see this when you look at the end result. The addition of the Deadbolt lock, however, is new.

 The Deadbolt lock is one of the strongest lockings mechanisms on the market today. The most important part of the Deadbolt lock is the hardened steel wedge that falls into the cut-outs in the blade. This construction is so strong it can handle quite a lot. It is also incredibly easy to use: you simply press the large pivot and close the blade as such.

 It is remarkable that you can adjust the so-called *detent* yourself. The show side contains a tiny torx screw, just before the middle of the handle. By turning it you can adjust how much pressure you need to take the knife from the handle. Some people feel a slight detent is great, others prefer a heavier one to make sure it doesn't open as quick. It is very unique you have this choice, especially on a knife in this price range.

 You open the pocket knife with the flipper. It is enhanced with a texture to make sure opening the knife is a piece of cake. Because of the use of IKBS ball bearings this is very easy. The handle is comprised of aluminium bolsters with GRN scales: glass reinforced nylon. Both aluminium and GRN are very light-weight. As such the weight of the M40-02 was kept low. The GRN is enhanced with a chic pattern. As such you have more grip over the knife, and it simply looks great!

Ontzettend mooi mes. Bijzonder mooie afwerking en materiaal gebruik. Vloeiende opening. Aan de dure kant maar wel het geld waard. 

Na een aantal weken het mes in mijn broekzak te hebben. Kan ik wel zeggen dat het een top edc mes is, van een appel te schillen tot een dik touw hij komt overal door heen. Een echte aanrader!!!
