The **Cold Steel Ranch Boss II 20NPM1** is a large pocket knife, developed for ranchers, cowboys and everyone else looking for a large knife. The shapes come directly from the rich history of the traditional pocket knives. A cool clippoint-blade with a handle that looks a little like a Texas Toothpick.



A large difference is that this knife is enhanced with a liner lock. You open it with two hands, after which a slipjoint offers resistance. After that the linerlock ensures that the knife will never close when you don't want it to. As a result your fingers are safe. Whether you cut open bales of hay, open boxes or prepare a sandwich.



The blade is made from SK5 tool steel. Tough, easy to sharpen and a great choice for a knife with this classic look and feel. Do, however, be careful with rust: SK5 is not completely stainless. So clean and dry it after use, and occasionally add a couple drops of oil. The handle is made from a synthetic material that looks like a type of cow bone with sawcut texture.

Wirklich großes Taschenmesser was sauber verarbeitet und einen hochwertigen Eindruck macht. Die Klinge arretiert absolut spielfrei, sitzt bombenfest, im geschlossenen Zustand nicht ganz mittig. Ich habe es leicht nachgeschärft jetzt hat es so richtig biss. Preis/Leistung stimmen hier, kann ich nur empfehlen. 

Eigentlich waren die Griffschalen ja nicht so ganz mein Geschmack. Und auch die erste Review hier bei KAT war nicht berauschend. Aber ich bin sehr positiv überrascht worden und froh, den Ranch Boss II nach einigem Zögern doch bestellt zu haben. Sehr saubere Verarbeitung, keine Spalten zwischen Griffschalen, Linern und Rückenfeder. Die Klinge liegt im geschlossenen Zustand absolut mittig, geöffnet ist keinerlei Klingenspiel feststellbar. Der Linerlock verriegelt kräftig und (wunderschön) hörbar. Die Klinge kam rasiermesserscharf an und hat seither nichts an ihrem Biss verloren, der Klingenrücken ist überraschend breit. Und das Ganze gibt's auch noch mit einem tollen Lederetui. Sogar die Griffschalen gefallen nun... Top!!!  

Das erste Cold Steel seit über 10 Stück, welches ich zurücksenden musste. Der Lock ist einfach zu stramm, trotzdem verriegelt es nicht spielfrei. Mit leichtem Druck schlägt der Lock sogar bis zur gegenüberliegenden Griffschale durch. 

Dann lieber die üblichen Tri-Ad Lock Modelle von Cold Steel!
