The **Case Astronaut Knife M-1 Commemorative** is a large machete. Originally designed for NASA. This model has been to the moon a total of nine times, on all Gemini (1962-66) and Apollo (1961-75) space missions. In 2019, Case reissued this knife for the 50th anniversary of the first steps on the moon.



As far as we know the astronauts never had to use this knife for hard-core survival tasks. This, however, doesn't mean that this machete isn't meant to be used. Remove blackberry bushes, or use the saw edge on the spine to cut through branches.



## Case Tru-Sharp SS steel


The blade is made from Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless type of steel that is similar to 420HC steel. Characterizing about this type of steel is that you can quickly sharpen it and have a razor-sharp knife.



## Yellow Synthetic handle


The handle is made from yellow synthetic material. This material feels great in hand and will still feel comfortable in very low temperatures.
