The **Benchmade 15500R-3 Meatcrafter** is a hybrid hunting knife. It's made for outdoor use, to gut game while hunting, but it's also great in the kitchen for preparing the freshly shot game.

The blade is made from CPM S45VN steel, a stainless steel that can be sharpened to a super-sharp edge. To make the Meatcrafter even sharper, Benchmade used their *SelectEdge* sharpening method on this knife. The edge is sharpened at a 14-degree angle for optimum sharpness. The blade is only 2 mm thick and has a fillet-style blade shape. 

The handle is made from OD Green G10, which is extremely strong and lightweight. The bright orange ring provides a nice contrast. The scales are held together by hollow rivets. Your fingertips rest on the top two rivets, which ensures a firm grip. The lower rivet has enough room for a beautiful lanyard. This large, hollow rivet can also be used to hang the knife from a meat hook or something similar. 

The sheath is made from Boltaron. This is a super strong material. The sheath is a bright, almost luminous, orange colour. It means you'll never lose the knife, even in the most savage wilderness. The sheath allows you to carry the knife on your belt or safely store it in your kitchen drawer.
