The **Benchmade Griptilian 551 S30V** is a practical EDC pocket knife, designed by Mel pardue. Ever since its first version many years ago the Benchmade Griptilian is definitely a classic in the knife world. Its ergonomic handle, perfect for both left and right-handed use, combined with different opening mechanisms and blade shapes make the Griptilian a legend in the pocket knife world.

 This Benchmade 551 Griptilian has a droppoint blade. You open it with the double thumb studs after which it is locked by Benchmade's famous Axis-lock. The handle is made from Valox. This is a brand name for a specific type of FRN (glass-reinforced nylon) which feels great in hand, is strong and doesn't weigh too much. In 2019 Benchmade decided to upgrade from 154CM-steel to CPM S30V steel making the Griptilian even better. CPM S30V is one of the few types of steel that is specifically developed for knives. It retains its sharpness well, and is very corrosion resistant.
