The **Bark River Sahara Hunter** is a stunning hunting knife, designed for hunting game of any size. The handle is ergonomically shaped, so it is perfect for long-term use. The blade has a substantial belly, which is ideal for skinning as it means you can't unintentionally puncture anything. The spine of the tip has a false edge, or swedge. The blade shape might therefore remind you of a classic clip point. The Sahara Hunter is a hunting knife that will be right at home in any hunting ground.


The blade is made from A2 tool steel, a strong steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from micarta, which is a strong and lightweight material made from linen and synthetic resin. It feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold conditions.



The Bark River Sahara Hunter comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it either upright (belt width up to 5.5 cm) or diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm). The sheath also has a loop for a firesteel (max. diameter ~7.0 mm).



Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos.
