The **Bark River Kitsuné Tanto** is a remarkable fixed knife, based on the classic Japanese tanto knife. Now many people might think: 'hold a minute, that is not a tanto'! Well, it really is. What we in the West nowadays see as a tanto, with the sharp angle at the tip, is an American tanto. It doesn't have a lot in common with the Japanese original. On these knives the transition is namely a lot smoother. So also with this Bark River Kitsuné Tanto.

 The Kitsuné Tanto is an amazing knife for different purposes. Its design is unique and it is simply a top-quality product. The large messing bolsters make it look amazing. Use it while hunting, camping or store it in your display case. A knife for the real enthusiast.

 The blade is made from CPM 154. A premium type of stainless steel that retains its sharpness well. As you might expect from Bark River the knife is razor-sharp. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can [maintain by stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

 The handle is made from micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.

 The Bark River Kitsuné Tanto comes with a solid leather sheath. The knife fits nicely, and can be carried both left and right-handed. The sheath has a belt loop with enough room for belts up to 5.0 cm.

 Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when you are working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
